Entering Argentina - Siete Lagos Route

After Pucon and Lake Villarrica, we could have headed south to Puerto Motts to start a journey of Chile's fjord region (sort of like central and north Norway). Instead, we turned east and traveled into Argentina.

Argentina was supposed to be the real highlight of my South American trip, in which I would stay for almost 3 weeks. Of course, after viewing the Lake District on Argentine side, it didn't disappoint.

We took the scenic "Siete Lagos Route" (Route of Seven Lakes) to reach the resort town, San Carlos de Bariloche (which is just called Bariloche). The route is very scenic but the road is very dusty and bumpy. Mmm...welcome to Argentina, the most European-like country in Latin America.

A small lake near the border between Chile and Argentina (but this lake is still on the Chilean side). As the only non-white person (this happens so often in my travel anyway), I felt a little nervous to travel into the most European (read: whitest) country in the American continent: Argentina.

Part of "Route of Seven Lakes" is in Lanin National Park ("Parque Nacional Lanin"). Lanin is a volcano neaby.

These glacial lakes are really beautiful.

Lake shore at the largest town along the route, San Martin de los Andes.

Feeling happy next to a beautiful lake.

Next: My favorite mountain resort town since Queenstown, New Zealand San Carlos de Bariloche in the Argentine Lake District.
